Error Codes
Cause
This is caused by operating system incompatibility with older software.
Solution
To solve this issue, you will need 'Administrator rights'. If you do not have 'Administrator rights', you will need to find the 'Administrator' of your computer to continue. First go to the place where Cummins Virtual College is installed in Windows Explorer. By default this is "C:\CVC\". Right click on CVC.exe contained in this folder and click on properties. A new window should appear with tabs at the top. Click on the "compatibility" tab and tick "Run this in compatibility mode for" tick box. Then select "Windows 95." The program should now run without crashing.
Cause
This can be due to a number of different reasons depending on your Operating System (OS) or if you are a Cummins employee.
Solution
If you are a Cummins employee on a "Powersweep 3" machine, you now need to order Cummins Virtual College off the software shelf. If you are not a Cummins employee, but are using a Windows OS that is either Vista or 7, then you need to run the installer in 'Administrator mode'. For this, you will need either an 'Administrator account' or to find a person who has an 'Administrator account' on the computer. To run the setup in 'Administrator mode,' first go to the Start menu and then click on Computer. With the CD inserted in the CD drive, right click on the CD drive and click open. Scroll down and find the 'setup.exe' file and right click on it. Then click "Run as Administrator" and type in the correct details.
Cause
Your sound card is not functioning correctly.
Solution
In the control panel/multimedia/audio tab change the playback device to use any available device, or click the box that says use only preferred devices. This could also be caused by outdated sound card drivers. Try updating the drivers to the newest version. If this does not work you may need to reinstall the software and try again.
