Course Overview

This course introduces the participants to Cummins-Onan Marine generator sets. The course gives an overview of the four stroke cycle of mechanical Diesel Engines, Engine components, Engine systems (cooling, lubrication, air intake & exhaust), alternator construction and operation, GenSet control system and networking, safety, installation requirements, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Cummins-Onan Marine generator sets.

This is an introductory course and is aimed at Sales people, Service Technicians, Engineers and customer users who need an overview of Cummins-Onan Marine generator sets.

Course Objectives

On satisfactory completion of the course, the participants will have been provided with an insight of the operation of the engine, alternator and control system of the GenSet. Participants will also gain skills and knowledge to assist in maintenance, fault finding and repair of Cummins-Onan Marine generator sets
